Horrific crash leaves one dead in Delmas
A full advanced life support resuscitation was initiated but the patient’s injuries were too severe.
According to Netcare 911 media liaison officer Shawn Herbst, a serious collision occurred on the R50 Delmas Road between Bapsfontein and Pretoria on Sunday (August 26) at about 5.30pm.
Herbst said reports from the scene indicated the collision involved a light motor vehicle and a light delivery vehicle.
When emergency services arrived one person from a car lying on its roof was found to be in a critical condition and was quickly extricated by fire and rescue crews to allow access to treat the patient.
Despite efforts from emergency services, the patient was declared dead on the scene.

An occupant from the light delivery vehicle sustained minor injuries and was transported by another private ambulance service to hospital for further assessment and care.
“All necessary authorities were on scene to investigate,” said Herbst.
