Emperors Palace celebrates 20th birthday

Chosen to be known as Zack only, was the MC of the event.

It has been 20 years since Emperors Palace has been making dreams come true and this year they are celebrating their 20 years for 20 weeks.

At one of the first celebratory events, the hotel, casino, convention centre and entertainment resort decorated 5 000 cupcakes to give to local children’s and old age homes.

Guests were invited and passers-by just joined the fun in the Entertainment Emporium on August 16 where they wore aprons and toque blanches to decorate the cupcakes adding their own je ne sais quoi effect.

Among those who attended were Tammy Taylor Mrs South Africa finalists, children from local children’s homes and South African boxer, Hector “Hekkie” Budler among others.

During the festive period, visitors can also look forward to a series of surprises across the resort until December 13. From a colossal artificial birthday cake and golden treats at Aurelia’s Restaurant to a coffee table book and a remembrance walkway.

Standing tall in the Entertainment Emporium, and guaranteed to leave visitors awestruck, is a 10m wide, three-metre-meter high artificial birthday cake that surrounds the iconic Statue of David.
