EMPD halts illegal land invasion in Daveyton

No arrests were made.

EMPD officers halted an attempted land invasion by members of the public at Gabon informal settlement in Daveyton on August 15.

The operation was conducted from 4am until 11am.

Some of the structures that were demolished.

According to Chief Superintendent Wilfred Kgasago, EMPD spokesperson, the attempted land grab was stopped and no arrests were made.

“Residents pelted the EMPD trucks which were transporting materials from the demolished structures,” said Kgasago.

“The EMPD will closely monitor the area to ensure that no illegal invasion and illegal structures take place.”

No arrests were made.
