READ/LISTEN: Neighbouring Atlasville parkrun gets the go-ahead for Saturday
The issues have been ironed out and the parkrun will take place on Saturday.
The postponed Atlasville parkrun will now be going ahead on August 18 following a successful meeting between Ward 23 councillor André du Plessis and parkrun South Africa CEO Bruce Fordyce.
“The meeting was very positive,” said du Plessis.
“Parkrun SA agreed to address all the concerns of the community to alleviate any negative impacts on the community as well as on the environment.
“Many positive future aspects of upgrading the park further were also discussed.”
The inaugural 5km Atlasville parkrun will start at 8am on Saturday in Finch Street, Atlasville.
