Tennis players serve up a storm at IPTs

These players are aces.

Gauteng East tennis players recently played in the South African Schools Inter-provincial Tournaments from April 26 to 30.

The u-19 and u-15 teams played in Pretoria.

The u-19 team ended fifth out of 16 teams.

Liam Day and Isabella Sereo were chosen for the u-19 South African High Schools team to tour the UK in July.

The u-15 team ended 12th out of 16 teams.

The u-13 team played in Bloemfontein and ended 15th out of 16 teams.

Tayla Wilmot and Erin McKenzie were selected for the u-13 Primary Schools team to tour the USA in August.

Ken Smith, chairman of the Gauteng East Tennis Association said: “Gauteng East had the most enjoyable Inter-provincial Tournament.

“The teams showed total commitment and all the players have gained invaluable experience and have all grown as tennis players.”
