Kevin was editor of the City Times for two and a half years and worked as a journalist and news editor for the newspaper for three years prior to being promoted to editor.

Lana is a former editor and assistant editor of the Boksburg Advertiser and former editor of get it East Rand magazine, having first joined Caxton fresh out of school at the age of 18, in 1989.

She attended Martin School and Summerfields Primary and matriculated from Willowmoore High.

“It is a privilege for me to take over the reins from a consummate editor like Kevin and I have, over the years, also garnered a lot of knowledge about the newspaper world from the City Times’ former editor, Hilary Green, who was my very first editor and mentor when I started as a fledgling journalist all those years ago.

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to put my knowledge and skills to work in maintaining the newspaper’s good reputation and building on the relationship with the community the team at the City Times currently enjoy,” Lana said.

“With the impressive growth of our online footprint and the recent addition of Caxton Radio being piloted through the City Times, I’m entering a very exciting time for the publication and Caxton Local Media as a whole, and we all look forward to harnessing the power of technology in delivering an even better, faster and more tantalising product to our loyal readers, every hour of the day and in print every week!”
