Dagga worth R100 000 seized during police operation

The operation was a success, said police.

Five people were arrested during the Ekurhuleni Central Cluster intelligent driven operation last night (April 25).

The operation was conducted in Daveyton from 9pm until 4am.

Members of the cluster’s tactical team and crime intelligence officers lead the operation.

Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson Lt Col Mack Mngomezulu said three people were arrested for being in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition which were recovered at their stores.

At the Daveyton Hostel two men were arrested for dealing in dagga.

Mngomezulu said the two men were found with dagga worth R100 000.

All suspects were arrested and detained at the Daveyton Police Station.

They are expected to appear in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on April 30.
