I am a senior citizen who was shopping at the Pick n Pay Farrarmere on March 15.
When I approached the till to pay for my goods with my savings card, I got confused with my pin code and put the incorrect code in three times and, to my embarrassment, my card was blocked.
I had no option but to apologise to the mother and daughter standing behind me and asked the store assistance to call a supervisor to cancel my purchase which was over R200.
To my surprise, the daughter stepped forward and offered to pay my bill.
I told her that it was not necessary, but she insisted saying that on occasion her grandfather did the same thing.
She then proceeded to pay for my purchases.

I gave her my contact details and said that I would transfer the money as soon as I received her bank details on my cellphone.
I never received those details and wish only to thank a stranger who stepped up and generously rescued me.
Your mother must be so proud of you for your generosity.
Obviously, your actions came from the heart with no expectation.
What a wonderful inspiration you are.
