Despite the sorrow and sadness that has come from this loss, his colleagues at the Crystal Park SAPS described him as a dedicated and committed officer who always put others before himself.

The Crystal Park station commander, Lt Col Belinda Motaung, said Sieberts was very committed to servicing the Crystal Park community.

“I will remember Sieberts for his discipline, neatness and loyalty towards the SAPS,” said Motaung.

“With his passion and drive, he became a good officer that served the SAPS for 24 years.

“Sieberts was a community-oriented servant that wanted to see his community safe,” she said.

The station commander said the station lost a foot soldier that they prided themselves on.

His partner Elizabeth Raadt said she will remember him as a humble, loving partner and as someone who always wanted to do the right thing.

“He enjoyed developing the youth’s soccer skills as a way of taking them of the streets, which was something close to his heart when he wasn’t at work,” said Raadt.

Sieberts leaves behind Elizabeth, son Angelo Titus and his mother.

He will be laid to rest on April 14 in Bloemfontein.
