Of course we can because the platform was officially launched to guests on March 22.

Jenny Eve (Eve Estates), Carol Moster (Harcouts George Rennie) and Estelle van der Walt (Harcourts George Rennie).

Jerry’s Café played host to the launch of the online streaming radio station, which aims to be the mouthpiece of Benoni residents and the platform for the town and its people’s stories.

Bhavini Dalpat, Kevin van der List, Paul Rotherham, Jerry Cindi and Linda Pretorius.

“Within the first 13 to 14 days since the launch on March 1, we have had about 98 000 streamers,” said Paul Rotherham, who was the MC for the evening.

Rotherham, in conjunction with Caxton Local Media, launched Caxton Radio Benoni on March 1.

Paul Rotherham was the MC for the night.

Rotherham said the dream of having a live streaming radio station was started eight years ago, and he thanked Caxton employee Clyde Meela for helping to make the dream a reality.

He also spoke to businessmen and women who were guests at the launch.

“Caxton Radio will help your businesses,” he said.

Marika Grove (Re/Max Randgro), Jan Jordaan and Mary Andalaft sit with Paul Rotherham’s wife, Zina.

“I am excited about how this can become a hub for the Benoni community.”

Paul Smith and Sharné Bodenstein also attended in support of Caxton Radio.

Caxton Radio is running a trial of three months in Benoni and will then be rolled out in five other regions.

“Caxton Radio will not play the same 400 songs over and over,” Rotherham assured guests.

“… When you speak to the community you can find the most extraordinary stories.”

George and Julie Venner attended the evening. George also won R3 000 worth of advertising.
