Swans soar at the Lake’s summer club champs

The course was in top condition.

Benoni’s golf courses were hives of activity over the weekend of March 3 and 4 with their 2018 club championships.

The Lake Club Benoni was no different.

Head professional Rachel Howard said: “After great dedication and effort from our committee and staff we were happy going into our club champs with a full field.

“We had a course in great condition thanks to our green-keeper Wesley Louth and his team,” said Howard.

“Day one appeared to be much easier than day two’s set-up as many players struggled to beat their first-round scores, but there was still the stronger few golfers who fought back hard and improved their ranking to come out on top of the leaderboard.

“Our men’s and women’s champions for 2018 are Kyle Opperman and Candise Wort.

“Both have strong golfing backgrounds and it just shows how hard work and dedication to the game can pay off.

“It is fantastic to see the many up and coming youngsters we have at the Lake Club who are keen to take their golf careers further.

All the Lake Club’s club champions for 2018.

“We love the dedication of our members who participate each and every year even when they don’t achieve their goals, but never give up.”
