Old Bens to play in Top Eight final

A 2-2 draw on February 17 against Kempton Park was enough for Old Bens Football Club’s Senior Super League XI to win Pool B of the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) pre-season Top Eight competition and advance to this weekend’s final.

They will play Luso Africa at Hatting Park in Primrose from 3.30pm with the clubs’ reserve sides raising the curtain at 1.45pm on February 24.

Benoni Northerns Football Club, in the same group as Old Bens, played Alberton on Saturday and lost 3-0 in a game where coach Jannie van den Berg fielded a number of young players, ending their pre-season Top Eight campaign.
