LISTEN: Sailing like a breeze at Homestead
Have you ever thought about taking up sailing in Benoni?
“There’s no better place to sail than in Benoni today – the conditions are absolutely perfectly,” said Peter Clayton, coach at Benoni Sailing Club, during the on-going club championships on the waters of Homestead Dam on February 11.
“We have seven or eight days of sailing over the course of the season, the points all accumulate and a club champion is awarded at the end of the year.”
Clayton is hard at work developing the sport in Benoni, particularly within schools.
The Benoni Open and Junior Cup will be held on the weekend of February 24 and 25 at Homestead Dam.
