Man sentenced for robbery

He is serving his sentence in Modderbee Prison.

Mbuso Sibanyoni has been sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for robbery with aggravating circumstances.

The 21-year-old was sentenced in the Benoni Regional Court on January 31.

On February 3, 2017, Sibanyoni robbed a tuck shop owner in Etwatwa.

Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe said two men arrived at the shop, threatened the owner with a knife and robbed him of his cellphones worth R3 750.

The two suspects fled the scene on foot.

Sibanyoni was arrested on August 15, last year, and his accomplice is still at large.

He is serving his sentence at Modderbee Prison.
