Local high school to teach dramatic arts
The school is the first in Benoni to introduce dramatic arts as a subject.
Hoërskool Hans Moore has introduced dramatic arts as an eighth subject this year.

The school explained the subject consist of two sections, a practical component and a theoretical component.
Each of the components counts 50 per cent.
The school said learners follow the GDE syllabus and their continuous assessment (CASS), including all tests, examinations, tasks, activities, projects and practical assessments done throughout the year, is moderated by the Department of Education.
Vé Botha, the teacher who will be presenting the class, has a drama degree and 20 years’ experience in the discipline.
She said the class will be presented on Friday afternoons from 2.15pm to 4.15pm.
She also said if demand is high enough, the subject will be made available in both English and Afrikaans.
“Hoërskool Hans Moore is the only school in Benoni to introduce dramatic arts as a subject,” she said.
Botha’s main subjects are English home language and arts and culture.
