Brentwood Park alleged robbers due to appear in court

Alleged robbers await to hear their fate

The two men who have been arrested in connection with the Brentwood Park house robbery are due to appear at the Benoni Magistrate’s Court today (January 23).

The two men aged 30 and 33 years-old were arrested after being found in possession of the stolen vehicle from the house robbery.

They were arrested on January 22 in Daveyton.

Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said on January 21 a woman returned home from the gym and found two men inside her house.

“The two men threatened the woman and drove her to a nearby ATM to withdraw a certain amount of money,” said Sekele.

“After withdrawing the money, they dropped her off in a veld in Bapsfontein.”

Sekele said the woman was stabbed several times in the upper body.

It is unclear how the duo gained entry into the property.

The suspects fled with an undisclosed amount of money and a Mercedes Benz.

A case of house robbery and attempted murder was opened at the Benoni Police Station.

The woman has been discharged from hospital.
