More venues to light up this season

Since our last edition in which we asked for light submissions, we have had a total of four venue submissions.

• Emperors Palace 10th annual Garden of Lights

Christmas lights will be operational from December 8 to January 3 between 7pm to 10pm weather permitting.

The fee to enter the garden of the Peermont D’oreale Grande hotel at Emperors Palace is R25 per person or R100 for a family package of five people.

Children under the age of two enter for free.

Proceeds from the entrance fee will be donated to Cansa.

Bookings can be made through the Emperors Palace Box Office on 011 928 1213/1297 or by visiting www.emperorspalace.com

• Christmas Cottage at 47 11th Avenue, Northmead.

Christmas lights will be switched on from December 9 to 26 from 7.30pm to 10pm

Santa Claus and the Top Dogs will be visiting on December 15 and 16 from 7.30pm to 8.30pm

Letters to Santa may be dropped off at the location too and if you supply a local return address, Mother Christmas will answer all the letters.

• Christmas lights at 4 Duiker Street, Dewald Hattingh Park.

Lights are operational from December 11 to January 5 between 7pm and 10pm.

• St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Miles Sharp Street

Lights are switched on from 7pm to 9pm currently until December 24.

A carols evening will be held at the church on December 17 at 6pm.

If you want to showcase your Christmas-themed lights this year, then submit the following details to sheinar@caxton.co.za:

• When the lights will be on display (times they will be switched on)

• Duration of the lights being on display (start and end date that the lights will be switched on)

• Address where the lights will be displayed (business, home, organisation)

Responses to the above information will be published in the City Times to give community members an opportunity to visit the locations to witness the bright displays.
