Man hijacked, dropped off in Bapsfontein

A 36-year-old man was hijacked after he parked on the side of the road in Daveyton.

The incident occurred on December 5 on Turton Street at about midnight.

Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Capt Mesh Makole said the man stopped on the side of the road to pick up his phone which he dropped inside the car.

“Suddenly, he was approached by three armed men who threatened him and got inside the car,” said Makole.

“They drove away with him and he was later dropped off in Bapsfontein.”

The criminals drove off with the Toyota Etios, valuables and an undisclosed amount of money.

No arrests have been made.

A case of hijacking was opened at the Daveyton Police Station.
