Kobeli Mokheseng, EMPD media liaison officer, said the EMPD Germiston and Thokoza precincts, along with the Freeway Unit, conducted an operation targeting drinking and driving.
“Twenty-seven drivers were caught on both directions of the N12 freeway between Etwatwa and Springs, four on Hatting Road in Elandsfontein and two in the Germiston central business district,” said Mokheseng.
The drivers are facing charges of drunken driving.
They are expected to appear in court soon.
