The Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club, together with its branch club, the Benoryn Lions Branch Club are challenging you to get an extra can of food while doing grocery shopping.
These donations will be given to the needy this Christmas.
This is for their Cans for Africa project, which will run from November 24 to December 3.
“Community members will donate a can, pick a town on a huge map and after a few days of collection, a winner will be announced, said Peter van der Heiden, Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club president.
The cans can be dropped off at Rebel Fruit and Veg Atlasville, at 28 Star Street, Atlasville, Boksburg.
Van der Heiden said by donating a can or R10 at their pyramid stand people will stand a chance of winning R1 000 or a prize.
The draw will be on December 3 at 3pm.
