Fishermen will have to find other waters
Local fisherman John Victor was surprised to see no-fishing signs in C R Swart Park, near the Rynfield Dam, recently.
“I am a law-abiding citizen so I will stay away, but there are people who ignore it (the signs) but nothing gets done,” the bass angler said.
“It’s going to make life more difficult because I fish on a daily basis – that’s how I relax.”
The Boat Lake Village resident said the dam offers a safe environment for fishermen, but he insists he will take his fishing line elsewhere after having seen the no-fishing sign on October 30.
According to Vince Cockbain, the managing director of Ebotse, the dam has been a no-fishing area for years.
The metro recently erected signs listing the by-laws for the area.
