Cheer Fund for abused, needy animals

The annual Benoni SPCA Cheer Fund will be launched on November 1 and monies raised will cover the society’s expenses.

The Benoni SPCA is situated at 3 Klein Street in Lakefield.

Expenses include veterinary bills for confiscations of abused animals, road accident victims – most of which do not have homes – and sick strays that have not had a decent meal for weeks, to name a few.

The SPCA is grateful for any amount as the Christmas season is one of their busiest times of the year.

The organisation asks that this initiative attracts strong support so they can stop cruelty to animals.

Each week, the names of the previous week’s contributors will be published in the City Times.

People who donate to the SPCA and want their donations to be published in the City Times, can also email their name and the amount of the donation to sheinar@caxton.co.za. The Benoni SPCA can be contacted on 011 894 2814/5 or 073 511 2261 (emergency after hours).

Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8.30am to 4pm and Saturdays from 8.30am to noon.
