The incident happened on Fourth Avenue, Northmead around 6.30am.
Capt Nomsa Sekele, Benoni SAPS spokesperson, said the women parked in her driveway and went to open the gate.
“Suddenly, two men approached her and one of the men, who was armed, asked her for the car’s keys,” said Sekele.
“She told the men that the keys were in the ignition.”
The two men drove away with a green Volkswagen Golf four Tdi.
No arrests have been made.
A case of hijacking was opened at the Benoni SAPS.
