Church stands up against abuse

It was a cold morning on Saturday, but the hearts of the church members of the Christian Training Centre (CTC), among others, were warm as they gathered to walk through the streets of Actonville against the abuse of women and children.

The funds (approximately R6 000) raised for the event will be given to the Bethesda House in Actonville.

The home, which was founded by Dr David Sagathevan in 2006, is a shelter for abused women and their children.

Each participant who attended the walk paid R10 for their ticket.

The annual walk was open to the community of Actonville and surrounding areas, the church and members of the CTC.
