Two restaurants robbed at Daveyton Mall

Police are searching for two men after two shops were robbed in the Daveyton Mall yesterday (July 6).

The incident occurred at around 6.30pm.

Daveyton SAPS spokesperson Capt Mesh Makole said a cashier from a fish and chips outlet said she was busy at the till when an armed man approached her and instructed her to open the till while the other one waited at the door.

“The man took an undisclosed amount of money from the till and robbed customers of a total of R900 and a cellphone,” said Makole.

“He then fired one shot and they fled the scene.”

Makole said the two robbers then went to a pizza outlet and pointed a firearm at the cashier and instructed her to open the till.

He stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The robbers fled the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Police are appealing to anyone with information to come forward or call crime stop on 08600 10111.

Two cases of business robbery were opened at the Daveyton Police Station.
