This winter operation needs you
Support the Impessa Girl Guides and Rangers and the staff of Willowmoore High School, under the guidance of Sharol Naidoo, who are knitting scarves to support Operation Antifreeze's Winter Woolies Drive.
Operation Antifreeze, a non-profit organisation (NPO), supports over 500 learners in 11 schools throughout Ekurhuleni who have been identified by teachers as being in dire need of assistance.
The NPO has a number of beneficiaries in Benoni, including Project Feed the Children, Angel Wings Care Centre and Reto Rehabilitation Centre.
They also assist Northfield Mission and Outreach through whom donations are further distributed to places such as John Wesley Community Centre, Nora’s Crèche and Kingsway, among others.
The Winter Woolies Drive will support children at a high school in Benoni, The Salvation Army and the 800 people that Operation Antifreeze feeds and provides food parcels to on a monthly basis.
Members of the public can be part of this initiative by knitting, buying or donating money to the worthy cause.
If more scarves, beanies and blankets are collected than what is needed for the above mentioned organisations, these will distributed among Operation Antifreeze’s other beneficiaries.
The closing date to contribute is July 15.
