The Festival: what you need to know

The Festival @ St Dunstan’s is here.

If you have no idea about Benoni’s biggest party, you must have been living under a rock for months.

But don’t fear, there is still time to buy tickets and to familiarise yourself with the annual party.

With all the hype around the event, we felt it important to tell you exactly what the dos and don’ts are on May 13 at St Dunstan’s College.

Event organiser Paul Smith has all the details.

Q: Will tickets be sold on the day at the gate and other outlets that it has been sold at?

A: Yes, they will, however, tickets bought on May 13 will be general access at R200 and backstage VIP at R500.

Q: What time does The Festival start?

A: Gates open at 1pm and the party ends when the feet stop dancing.

Q: Do I need a parking voucher?

A: A parking tag can be bought on the day, however, space is limited and pre-paid vouchers will guarantee parking.

Q: What ages may attend?

A: The day is open to the entire family.

Q: Can I bring my own food and drink?

A: No, there will be plenty of food and drink vendors present on the day.

Q: What stalls will be available?

A: Mugg & Bean, Spur, Spiral Chip, Sausage Saloon, Chip ’n Dip, Doughnuts, Coffee on the move, pizza and pasta, The Sushi Bus, The Filthy Moustache Truck, Yummy Slushy, pancake stalls and The Espetada Truck. There will also be many cooldrink vendors and an incredible beer garden.

Q: What items may I not bring in?

A: No weapons, no drugs, own food and drink, hubblies, large umbrellas, chairs, gazebos or tents.

Q: What should I definitely bring along?

A: Wear comfortable shoes, sunscreen, good vibes, blankets and a positive attitude.

Q: Will I be allowed to record the event with a camera?

A: No, recording of any of the acts is strictly prohibited.

Q: What facilities will be available?

A: A beer garden, Kiddies Zone, M & B chill zone and muscle car display.
