The deceased was stabbed to death on April 17 at around 10pm.
Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Capt Ramothakhi Maqabe said it is alleged that the two men had an argument which led to the suspect stabbing the victim with a sharp object.
“The suspect allegedly stabbed the deceased in his upper body and fled the scene,” said Maqabe.
Maqabe added that the suspect was later arrested after community members gave them a description of the man.
A case of murder was opened at the Etwatwa Police Station.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Benoni Magistrate’s Court soon.
