Actonville gets all the points at Lord’s

Actonville Spurs Cricket Club’s (ASCC) Premier XI enjoyed an Eastern Premier League victory over Tembisa at Lord’s Cricket Grounds in Actonville on Sunday, March 5.

Actonville’s skipper Michael Enslin won the toss and elected to field first on a flat Lord’s wicket.

Tembisa started aggressively with the willow via a good excellent opening partnership between Zwelo Ntsimbini (66 runs) and Enoch Malhambe (24 runs).

After two Tembisa wickets fell Vincent Herold (48 runs) joined Ntsimbini at the crease and they started taking the game away from their hosts.

This was until Actonville’s bowlers struck quickly and continued to remove the Tembisan batsmen.

Wilber van Dyk (4/31) and Enslin (3/32) were the chief destroyers for ASCC as they helped bowl out their opponents for 191.

Early lunch was taken before Actonville came in to bat.

They batted aggressively from ball one, but lost some wickets.

A good partnership for the fourth wicket between Mark Pearse (83) and Vyasan Govenden (39 not out) would see Actonville pick up a five-wicket bonus point win.
