Gang scared off after tying up school guards

A group of men were scared off by armed response after they had tied up two security guards at a school in Crystal Park.

The incident took place between midnight and 2am on Wednesday (January 25).

The guards were on duty at Prestige College Crystal Park, when they were held up by eight to 10 men, two of whom had firearms.

“They tied up the guards but ran away when armed response arrived on the scene,” said WO Rudi Sieberts, Crystal Park SAPS spokesperson.

Sieberts said no case was opened, as there were no injuries and nothing was taken.

The school could not be reached for comment at the time of publishing.
