Three wanted for Northmead armed robbery

A case of business robbery was opened at the Benoni SAPS after an estate agency was robbed this afternoon (January 23).

This incident occurred on 14th Avenue, Northmead, at around 12.30pm.

According to Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele, it is believed that three robbers gained entry into the business through the back.

“When they got inside they held three people at gunpoint and ordered them to open the safe,” said Sekele.

Sekele said only one man was armed.

The three men took off with a firearm, laptops, cellphones and an undisclosed amount of money.

No one was injured and no arrests have been made.

The robbers fled in a white VW Polo.
