The incident occurred on November 23 at around 10.30am.
The Daveyton resident said he was approached by two men outside the library, one of which had a firearm.
“They pointed the gun at me and demanded my cellphone and money,” said Msiza.
Msiza said this was not the first time he was robbed at the library.
“I reported the incident to the library and they said they will check the CCTV footage,” he said.
The Benoni SAPS spokesperson, Capt Nomsa Sekele, urged students to report such incidents so that the police can investigate.
The Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Municipality could not be reached for comment at the time of publishing.
