Mother hijacked with three children in Farrarmere

A woman was hijacked in Farrarmere yesterday (November 26), while she had three of her children with her in the car.

The incident happened at around 2pm, on the corner of Malstroom Street and Rapid Road.

Capt Nomsa Sekele, the police’s Ekurhuleni Central Cluster spokesperson, said the female victim was driving to a function in Farrarmere from her home in Mackenzie Park, in a white BMW.

“Upon her arrival – after parking the car – she suddenly saw a charcoal Hyundai behind her car with four occupants,” said Sekele.

“Two of them quickly jumped out with guns and approached her side of the vehicle.”

The hijackers ordered her and her children out of the car.

Sekele said the vehicle was later recovered in Alexander.

No shots were fired and no injuries were reported.

A case of hijacking has been opened.
