Profanity not acceptable

John Victor writes:

On October 2 we took our sons for a swim at the Benoni Northerns Swimming Pool in Northmead.

After getting through the gate and setting down towels, we received a warm welcoming song booming out profanity. (The City Times removed the words mentioned.)

I approached the woman at the tuck shop as that was where the speaker was, to complain about the words of the songs that they are playing as there were a lot of small children swimming and playing in the area.

She said that it was not her USB stick as she left hers at home and the music was playing from a boy’s phone that was connected to the sound system.

If that is the only music you have to play around children, rather not play anything.

We packed up and left as nothing was going to be done about it.

This was our first visit to the pool and would be the last as I do not want my children to think that is how we roll by the pool.

The municipality did not reply at the time of going to print.
