Spin us a different story

Ian Graupner writes:

In reference to Herb Trokis’s letter of the September 23 issue, headlined “Disabled parking bays not sufficient”, I would have to agree that they are insufficient (notwithstanding the perfectly healthy, self-important, selfish people who “illegally” park there).

Herb also mentions that parking bays in general are too narrow; this is absolutely the case.

Every shopper at any shopping centre can attest to the dings and chips on their cars from cars parked next to them.

I would suggest shopping centre owners take serious note of this.

They are inconveniencing and aggravating the very shoppers who keep them in business by trying to squeeze in a few extra parking bays.

This is simply poor form in every respect.

Perhaps we will get their attention by all submitting claims for car repairs, or starting a public list of the shopping centres with the worst parking. Any other suggestions on this issue?

Something from the shopping centre owners would be good to hear, as long as it is not something like the parking bays are scientifically designed or adequate.

Experience tells us this is simply not the case.
