Tryna Maritz, acting communications officer at the Crystal Park SAPS, said Netstar received a signal for a truck in the area and called APB Security for assistance.
The Crystal Park Police Station was also summoned.
The four-tonne Isuzu truck emitting the signal was found on a plot in Third Road, at around 1pm.
Maritz said the vehicle was stolen in Mayfair on September 3.
Upon investigation, a blue Suzuki Swift was found to have been stolen in Mamelodi in April.
The owner of the property was not on the plot when police arrived.
No arrests have yet been made.
