Marge will be missed

Marjory “Marge” Williams died at the age of 87 at the Linksfield Hospital on July 7.

Marjory “Marge” Williams died at the age of 87 at the Linksfield Hospital on July 7.

Born on March 21, 1929, she lived in Edenvale with her first husband, Hugh William, for 49 years and then moved to Benoni where she met her second husband, Alf Stahmer, 15 years ago.

They lived in a retirement village, Vivian House, in Benoni for 10 years and were active in the Benoni Host Lions Club.

“They loved it when the family was around them and my favourite thing about her was her smile; she would light up the room and make you feel happy,” said her granddaughter, Jean-Marie Snyman.

“We will miss her very much, a huge part of us is with her; may she rest in peace – we love you granny.”

Her death was a shock to her family as she was recovering from a stomach operation she had three days before.

She is survived by her husband; eight children (Eunice Erasmus, Freda van Mill, Anna Rademan, Barbie Busby, Hugh Williams, Hughleen Williams, Erika van Emmenis and Dawn Snyman); 29 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren (Jaydee van der Mescht, Tiano van Wyk and Claudio van Wyk).

The funeral was held at the Edenvale Methodist Church on July 13.
