Danielle Kaschula, who lives in Morehill, arrived home at 6.30pm on July 6 and saw that her female staffie had been poisoned.
“She was salivating, started vomiting and had blood in her stool,” said Kaschula.
She said the male staffie had a 2cm fresh cut on his head, but survived.
The other two dogs on the property were not harmed.
The poisoned female dog is recovering at a vet.
“I was shocked, I am beside myself,” said Kaschula.
She said the family will open a case with the police today (July 7).
Benoni SAPS spokesperson Capt Nomsa Sekele said the public must report dog poisoning cases to police.
