Lions gather for induction
Members of the Lions Club organisation joined together at Cherrylane Gourmet Cafe in Northmead in witness and celebration of incoming presidents for the year 2016/2017.
In attendance at the Combined Presidents Induction Luncheon were members of the Benoni Host Lions Club, the Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club and the Benoryn Lioness Club, as well as Rotarian guests, and family and friends.
The presidents for the next term, who were induced by past district governor George MacDonald, are:
• Benoni van Rhyn Lions Club: Janis van der Heiden replaces Atholl Selkirk.
• Benoryn Lioness Club: Leslie Young replaces Valerie Ridout.
• Benoni Host Lions Club: Diane Crompton will serve a second term.
Serving others is a motto the Lions clubs firmly stand by.
The clubs continue to empower communities, meet humanitarian needs, helping those who are in need and vulnerable, while encouraging volunteers to do the same.
The Lions clubs are still hoping for more volunteers and people to join the organisation.
