Full house at Sing for Joy concert

A glorious sound filled the air at the St Dunstan’s Cathedral as a choir of 80 singers voiced lyrics, much to the delight of the audience.

Crowds of people turned out to enjoy the smoothing atmosphere at the annual Sing for Joy concert, which was held in Woburn Avenue, on May 21.

The theme this year was “A Transport of Delight”, which included songs of different modes of transport.

“A Transport of Delight” was produced and directed by Malcolm and Janet Chalmers, who were also involved with the arrangements.

The choir was accompanied by a brass band from Pretoria, as well as guest performances by the St Dunstan’s College and Preparatory School choirs, and the Benoni High School pipe band.

This was the 14th Sing for Joy concert, but in the past seven years the concert has been split it into two shows, one in the afternoon, and one in the evening.
