I, as a senior citizen, am shocked at the thought that the Benoni Country Club may be sold to yet another developer/development.

This club provides me with a safe environment in which to enjoy recreation, participation in the variety of sports and socialising with my peers.
I can cycle weekly with my granddaughters or I can walk without fear in a beautiful environment.
I have contributed to the club for 35 years. I finally have the time to enjoy the facilities that have been developed over the past 60-plus years.
Now I may have to watch it being destroyed!
I am sure that many of the pensioners in Benoni feel exactly the same way: saddened, angered and disgusted!
Is this what you want to do to us Mr Mayor?
