Thanks for honesty

Jackie Liddell writes by email:

I have to compliment a petrol attendant, Armstrong, who works at the BP on Tom Jones Street, for his honesty and sincerity.

I stopped at your outlet on December 15, on my way to work, and asked Armstrong to put R250 in my vehicle, do the oil and the tyre pressure, which he did.

He then came for the money.

I handed him the R250, plus a tip, which is something I always do.

He took the money and walked about two steps, then turned back, realising he had only put R200 fuel in my car.

At that point, I had not even checked to see how much he had poured in.

Armstrong handed back the R50 and apologised that he had only put in R200, instead of R250.

I must truly say that his honesty in giving me the money back truly came as a huge surprise to me.

As you know, life is hard in SA, and with all the poverty in and around the country, it is very rare that you find someone who is still honest under these circumstances.

Armstrong needs to be recognised for what he has done and I suggest you give him an extra bonus.

Your outlet has the most honest staff members.
