Chickita’s celebrate 40th in style

Chickita’s fashion boutique, in Northmead, celebrated its 40th birthday on Saturday, July 13.

The business has been in existence since 1971.

Chickita’s is known for its elegant, beautiful clothing, and also for hosting fashion shows for charity organisations, such as Hospice East Rand.

The programme kicked off with a fashion show, during which some of the beautiful garments were showcased, including some of the latest winter and evening wear.

The rest of the celebration consisted of socialising over cake and tea.

Guests included some of the boutique’s original customers and past staff members.

“I can just say thank you to all my customers for making my business what it is,” said owner of the boutique, Shirley Modlin.
