Night race dedicated to Nathan Miles

The festive season is fast approaching and, with it, comes the ever-popular Rowlin National Night Race on Wednesday, November 4.

The race, hosted by Benoni Northerns Athletic Club (BNAC) and sponsored by Rowlin National Brokers, is always a cheery and festive community affair and attracts runners and walkers from all age groups and from far and wide.

This year’s race will be run in honour of the late Nathan Miles, who thoroughly enjoyed running it to create awareness of the disabled.

Many will be at the event to support and run the various distances (5km, 10km and 15km) in his memory, through the leafy suburb of Rynfield.

Homeowners along the route, who are not running, are encouraged to decorate their homes, play sprightly music and motivate participants in the spirit of Christmas.

Advertising boards, handouts and other media will be up well ahead of time, warning motorists to prepare for road closures.

The 10km and 15km races start from Benoni Northerns Sports Club at 7pm, while the 5km starts at 7.10pm.

Entries will be taken at the start, from 5pm on the night or online at www.enteronline.co.za before Wednesday, October 28.

For further information contact the race organisers on 072 819 2122, 083 573 1011 or 079 836 4019, or email to bnacraceorganisers@gmail.com.

Medals will be given to all finishers and the prize giving will take place at 9pm.
