Eddy House celebrates older persons
The young and the elderly joined hands in celebration of International Day for Older Persons, at Eddy House, on Tuesday September 28.
The day is recognised as a United Nations initiative, and has been celebrated for 25 years, but this was the first time it was recognised in South Africa.
Eddy House residents invited St Francis College’s Grade 11 and 12 pupils to celebrate the day under the slogan: “Age is a state of mind”.
Residents played games and danced with the pupils who were taught, by the legends, to play classic games such as Scrabble, Monopoly and cards.
