After having been to the Benoni Home Affairs office twice this week; I must say it can be amusing-but only if one looks on the bright side of things.
The building is run down and I tripped and cut my foot on a broken tile upon entering. But more importantly is the disposition of the well groomed, very friendly, calm and polite lady behind the counter where all the chaos seems to accumulate.
Despite all the mishaps and madness, she never seems to despair, and is a perfect example of being in control of her emotions, despite being on the receiving end of everyone else’s outbursts.
So I must congratulate her on having the endurance to work in that environment day after day with a courteous smile on her face.
It does make a difference to the public to have someone like her on the other side of the counter.
