Prince Albert of Monaco visits Benoni for the first time

His Serene Highness (HSH) Prince Albert of Monaco made his first visit to his wife's home town, Benoni, on Monday afternoon, July 27.

Prince Albert relished in a late afternoon lunch with his wife’s close friends and family at a popular local pub, McGinty’s, at Northmead Square, in Benoni.

A very relaxed and casually dressed Prince Albert was in high spirits and very cheerful to be in the presence of his in-laws at their favourite popular local pub in Benoni.

As soon as he arrived at the pub, he made a phone call to his wife, Her Serene Highness Princess Charlene of Manaco, who is in Monaco, to inform her that he is finally here, at McGinty’s and  he did so with a cheerful smile and great laughter.

His visit to Benoni  was a special de-tour from his royal duties to spend some time with Princess Charlene’s family and he was also on his was to the Rhino Conservation Awards 2015 to be a key note speaker.

The Prince and the family caught up on family photos and memories, especially those of  Prince Albert’s two children Prince Jacques and Princess Gabrilla.

Prince Albert continued to converse with the rest of the guests who were specially invited for the late lunch by Princess Charlene’s Benoni family.

The lunch went on for over an hour and Prince Albert bid farewell to everyone as he was due for other official meetings and duties.

Prince Albert  is also in the country for the Rhino Awards taking place at Monte Casino on July 27.

Philips Lighting partnered with the  Prince Albert Foundation and they handed over the first of two new community light centers for South Africa, at the Actonville Primary, in Benoni on July 27.

Prince Albert’s brother in-law,  Gareth Wittstock,  was also in the country in the context of the South Africa – Monaco Exchange Programme (Sports and Education Exchange),  and the Monégasque u-16 rugby team played against the  South African u-16 rugby team over the weekend of July 25.

Prince Albert recently celebrated 10 years of his reign over the country of Monaco as the reigning Prince.

On the occasion of the 10 years of his reign, HSH Prince Albert II wanted to offer the Monegasques people, as well as the residents of the principality a spectacular concert with English artist Robbie Williams and he did so on Sunday, July 12.

On top of that,  Prince Albert and his wife celebrated their 4th wedding anniversary on July 2 and earlier this year they baptised their two children, where members of the Monaco royal family and Charlene’s family, the Wittstocks, were present at the baptism of baby Jacques, Hereditary Prince of Monaco and his older sister Princess Gabriella.

Following his speech at the Rhino Conservation Awards in Mote Casino, Prince Albert made his way to Kuala Lumpur for other official duties.
