LifeLine Ekurhuleni announces new board

LifeLine Ekurhuleni held its 44th annual general meeting on June 27.

Members of the board and volunteers were in attendance to discuss general issues affecting the organisation and to elect a new board.

The newly elected board members are Ron Walters, San-Rita Naidoo, Clinton Hutton, Gorette Doria, Lauren Torlage, Sarisha Mothilal, Zilo Mpempe and Glynis Holdsworth.

A five-year strategic plan to grow the organisation into a more integrated and focal point of communities was made a priority.

Many of the communities served by LifeLine face a number of challenges, such as child abuse, rape, drugs and alcohol abuse, domestic violence and financial worries.

These socials issues are tackled at offices in Ekurhuleni, including Benoni.

The organisation also provides an intermediary project which assists children and mentally challenged adult victims when they need to be in court, after an attack.

The facility is available from LifeLine in courts in Benoni, Daveyton, Boksburg, Vosloorus, Germiston, Palm Ridge, Tembisa, Tsakane, Nigel and Brakpan.
