‘The Enforcer’ visits Rynfield Primary

Springbok legend Bakkies “The Enforcer” Botha paid a special visit to Rynfield Primary School on the chilly morning of Wednesday, June 17.

The lock forward, who recently announced his retirement from international rugby, spoke to the school’s young rugby players ahead of the u-10, u-11 and second team’s Valke rugby finals for primary schools, to be held at Hoërskool Die Anker, in Brakpan, tomorrow (Thursday, June 18).

Botha, capped 82 times for the Boks, told the intrigued young crowd that he was pleased to visit the school as he started his provincial career with the Valke, the union into which Benoni falls, in 1998.

Ahead of the teams’ finals, tomorrow, he told the boys to “enjoy it”.

“There’s no pressure,” he said.

“When enjoyment happens, winning comes naturally.

“Rugby is an awesome game.

“It has the power to bring people together and to bring happiness to people’s faces.

“Go out there, believe in yourself and do you what you been coached to do.”
