Facelift for Daveyton schools
The Cashbuild Art-At-Heart competition will enable several schools to renovate their facilities and provide a comfortable environment for learners.
The schools that will receive Cashbuild building material worth R12 000 include: Barcelona Primary School, Thembelihle Primary School, Ntsikana Primary School, Gugulesizwe Primary School, Chief Albert Luthuli Primary School, JS Malaza Primary School, Kingsway Intermediate and Putfontein Primary School.
Each school entered the Cashbuild Art-At-Heart competition and learners from each submitted their artwork to Cashbuild.
“This artwork will be displayed at the ceremony and will then remain on display in the Cashbuild store for the next five years,” said Deanna Bessick, from Cashbuild.
Regina Makofane, principal of Thembelihle Primary School, expressed her delight.
“We are very excited to have won and did not expect this at all,” she said.
Lerato Mahetjie, deputy principal of Kingsway Intermediate School, said: “We are happy and we would like to fix the flooring in our mobile classes, which are sinking at the moment.”
